Privacy Policy: Product Badges Pro

Read this with the master policy

This supplement forms part of, and must be read together with, the Privacy Policy. The master sets out who we are, your rights, how to complain, security measures, this website’s cookies and everything else common to all our apps. This supplement adds what is specific to Product Badges Pro. Where the two differ, this supplement applies to Product Badges Pro.

1. Summary

Product Badges Pro (“the App”) is a Shopify app that lets merchants place badges, labels and promotional strips on their products. In short:

The App does not access any customer or order data. It cannot see who buys from your store.
It reads your products, collections, image files and published theme, and only as much of each as it needs to place and check badges.
It stores your badge and bundle designs, which products each badge is assigned to, and your settings. None of this is personal data.
It sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking.
If you uninstall, the App loses access immediately and its stored copy of your badge data is deleted when Shopify sends its shop/redact webhook, about 48 hours later.

If you shop at a store that uses the App

The App does not collect, receive or store any information about a store’s customers. Badges are shown by the store’s own theme. For any privacy question about your personal information, please contact the store directly.

2. What the App Reads

Products: ID, handle, title, featured image, price and compare-at price, created date, total inventory and whether inventory is tracked, and which collections each product is in. Low-stock badges use the product’s total inventory figure. The App does not use the inventory-levels or locations APIs.
Collections: the ones you pick for targeting.
Best-seller ranking: the App creates one hidden collection and asks Shopify to list its products sorted by best-selling. Shopify works out that order from its own sales data. The App only receives a list of product IDs. It never sees an order.
Themes (read-only): the published theme and its product and collection templates and sections, used to check the setup status.
Files: your image library, for the badge-image picker.

3. What the App Writes

Its own records: label and bundle entries, one per-product field recording label assignments, and three shop-level fields (default label, settings, best-seller cache).
The one hidden best-seller collection described above.
Badge images you upload to your Shopify Files. The App deletes only images it has itself replaced.
It never writes to your theme files. Where a manual snippet is needed, you paste it in yourself.

4. What We Store on Our Servers

Record	What it holds
Session	Your store’s `myshopify.com` domain and the access credentials Shopify issues. The record also has name and email fields, but they are used only for per-staff logins, which this App does not use. They stay empty.
Shop backup	A copy of your labels, bundles, settings and product-ID assignments, so they can be restored. It holds no personal data.

We do not collect or store the names or email addresses of you or your staff.

Legal basis: Performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b) UK GDPR).

5. Cookies and Your Browser

No cookies. Merchants are signed in with short-lived tokens from Shopify instead.
No analytics, advertising or tracking of any kind.

6. How Long We Keep Information

Backups	Held by Hostinger in the UK and overwritten by newer backups within 14 days

After you uninstall

Shopify removes the App’s access to your store immediately. The App’s stored copy of your labels, bundles, settings and assignments is deleted when Shopify sends the shop/redact webhook, about 48 hours later. The hidden best-seller collection and any badge images you uploaded remain in your store, under your control, because they are your data held in your Shopify account. You can ask us to delete sooner by emailing hello@mega-tronic.com.

8. Your Rights, Changes and Contact

Your rights, how we notify changes, how to complain and who we are are all set out in the Privacy Policy. For significant changes affecting this App, we will let you know in the App before they take effect.
